Modernizing IT Infrastructure for Terminal Operations

We partnered with a leading international container terminal operator to modernize its IT environment, delivering a scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure platform designed for future growth.

Business Need

Our client, a Chennai-based international container terminal operator, embarked on a technology refresh initiative for its Terminal Operating System (TOS) environment. While application migration was managed by existing partners, the client required a system integration partner to lead the IT infrastructure transformation. The scope included the design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing support of a modern infrastructure ecosystem spanning compute, storage, backup, Oracle databases, virtualization, networking, security, and software licensing, ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performance platform for business-critical operations.

Solution Delivered

We designed and implemented a comprehensive IT infrastructure platform to support the client's Terminal Operating System (TOS) environment. The solution featured a dedicated application tier, Oracle SPARC T7-1 servers with Oracle RAC for the database layer, and a VMware-based infrastructure on Dell servers for supporting applications. To ensure high-performance storage and data protection, we deployed Oracle ZFS storage, redundant Brocade SAN switches, Commvault backup solutions, and an Oracle tape library. The infrastructure was further strengthened with Cisco-powered routing, switching, and firewall services, complemented by Fortinet load balancing and security solutions, delivering a resilient, secure and highly available IT environment.

Results Achieved

The client gained a centralized, scalable, and highly available IT infrastructure with minimal migration downtime. The solution improved infrastructure visibility, strengthened security, simplified management and ensured reliable support for business operations.
