I have had the chance to take on responsibilities that were new to me and learn by actually doing them. Interacting with colleagues from different teams has also helped me become a better communicator and more confident in expressing my viewpoints. Some experiences pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, which turned out to be a great learning experience. Over time, these opportunities have helped me understand what I am capable of and where I can do better.

Adaptability. Working in the Accounts department has taught me that no two days are exactly the same, and there are often new requirements, different priorities, or situations that need a quick rethink. My senior colleagues have shown me the value of staying calm, listening to different perspectives, and finding a way forward instead of getting stuck on one approach. Over time, I’ve become more comfortable adjusting to changes and learning from the people around me. It has also taught me that being adaptable is not just about handling change, but about being willing to learn and do things better.

The Knight. I’ve always liked how unique the Knight is from every other piece. It doesn’t follow the usual path and can make an unexpected move when you least expect it. I see a bit of myself in that. I enjoy exploring new things, trying different approaches, and sometimes taking the road less travelled. I value freedom and adventure, but I also believe in staying calm and thinking things through when plans change. Like the Knight, I may not always take the obvious route, but I enjoy finding my own way.

My participation in the Madras University Women’s Chess Tournament, B Zone, where I was part of my college team that secured 3rd place in 2019. In the Inter-Collegiate Chess Team Tournament, our team secured 2nd place in 2018 and went a step further to win 1st place in 2019. These tournaments allowed me to challenge myself, learn from every game, and create some memorable moments through chess.
